Should Girls Ask Guys Out?

We are living in the twenty-first century where the society has progressed beyond anyone’s imagination. Things which were a mere thought before have become a possibility today. Women have equally contributed to the progress and development of each and every sector of the economy.

If ladies are climbing the corporate ladder side by side with men and demanding equal pays and privileges then why can’t they ask their crushes out on a date? If we don’t let an opportunity to fly by in our professional lives then why compromise on our personal relationships?

Here are 10 good reasons why women can take the lead and ask men out:

1. The cultural shift

Even the newest dating trends are giving a chance to women to be in the driver’s seat and sort out a date with a guy. There is a dating app in which women take the lead and it is entirely up to her to ask the guy out. Such trends have shaped the paradigm differently and given a chance for women to make the first move and dictate all the terms of getting together with a male partner.

2. Relationships are about women too

Dating is not a one-way street and requires the equal involvement of both partners. When a guy is asking a girl out, he is actually making a decision to see whether the girl is a good fit for him or not. Why not make it the other way round? It would be awesome if women can ask guys out and then analyze them to see whether they will be good together or not. Of course, there is building confidence to talk to the opposite sex, and there is mutual sizing up too when on a date but this dynamic change could give you a bit more power.

3. You’ll be free from overanalyzing the situation

There are so many instances when women are stuck between the mixed signals. They aren’t sure whether guys hint towards something or just being friendly. This can actually be quite a frustrating situation to be in. If you are the kind of girl who wants some quick answers and cannot wait unnecessarily for long, go ahead and ask the guy out. This, at least, will free you from misinterpreting the situation again and again. As Gautam Buddha said, “Nothing can harm you as much as your own thoughts unguarded.”

4. You’ll gain more self-confident

As cliché as it may sound but knowing what you want and acting upon it is quite satisfying. Knowing that your life is under your control and yours only and no one else can take the lead in it will give a boost to your morale. We have been doing it in our homes and careers then why not apply the same formulas in our relationships? You will feel more attractive by acting on your feelings.

5. The guy might be shy

There are some guys out there who are just really shy and can never gear up to make the move. If you feel that out of you two, you are more outgoing than him, it is completely fine to make the first move. For some dudes, the pressure of asking a girl out is overwhelming and they’ll be very happy to get rid of it. Also, the ego of the guy is stroked and it is quite flattering for him to realize that you are into him.

Here’s how to Targeting Mr. Right

6. Guys love it

According to a survey by Cosmopolitan magazine, 95 percent of guys find a girl really hot if she asks them out first. They like girls who are bold, different, and ready to take the lead. After all, these are the girls who will be sharing the burden with them and will be playing an equal part in making their lives beautiful.

7. Consider the worst possibility

What is the worst possibility of asking a guy out? He’ll probably say no to you. Guys have been rejected since the beginning of time and they have been taking it rather graciously. If you want to go for a change, you need to get rid of some false social norms and the fake standards of self-respect. There is nothing wrong in hearing a no from a guy and you’ll be just fine.

“Rejection doesn’t mean you aren’t good enough; it means the other person failed to notice what you have to offer,” says the famous writer and biographer Mark Amend and he is right in every way.

Most importantly, a gal should realize that a no doesn’t mean that there is something wrong with her. If a guy rejects you, this means that he is different and if you guys were together, you would have spent the entire time fixing the loopholes in the relationship. You actually have been saved from a lot of exhaustion.

8. Women are powerful enough to bring a change

Change is an integral part of life and even relationships are no exception to it. Just a few decades ago, relationships weren’t meant for “hook ups” only, and it was rather awkward if a woman lived with a guy before getting married. These two customs are quite prevalent in the modern society and this shows the flexibility of the society to incorporate change. Similarly, with the passage of time, girls asking guys out will also normalize.

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” – Albert  Einstein

9. You might strike the right chord

There are chances that just by going for it and making the first move, you’ll be able to find the love of your life and will land with the right person. It is always worth it to take the plunge if the result is going to give you the right partner.

10. It’s a great practice

You might have patiently waited your entire life for the perfect match and depended on people for your happiness. It is time that you realize that you have practiced enough patience and now it is time to take matters into your own hands. Even if you fail the first few times, things will get much easier afterward.

You are the woman of today and only you are responsible for your happiness or distraught so don’t let anyone else make the most important decisions for you. Have confidence and believe in yourself, the rest will just be fine. Just remember:

“There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.” – Steve Maraboli
